Stupid question. Depends on who does the swap, depends on how you source the parts, depends on your skill level. You don’t want to daily an LS E36/E46. The amount of money it will take to do it all and keep the AC and make it reliable with new parts… gonna be $25k+. I actually have an LS E36 M3 and did it myself.

New engine and old engine. S54 in the E30 :) The E46 M3 radiator went in pretty easily. The lower metal tabs on the E30 had to be cut and bent of the way and we made some new lower mounts. The E30 top mount fit fine with a couple little pieces of wood. I used stock E46 M3 coolant hoses, including the heater core hoses.

When doing the radiator swap it is important to replace your coolant with OEM BMW coolant. We recommend doing an entire coolant flush of not only your radiator but your entire system including your engine block. The OEM BMW concentrated coolant part number is 82141467704 and costs about $21.

M52 = 190Hp @5300 rpm. M54 = 225Hp @5900 rpm. S52 = 236Hp @6000 rpm. The nice thing about a S52 swap is if you're in California you can leave the stock 528i valve cover on it and the Smog guy will never know it's a 3.2 and the emissions are within specks. But still a very cool project!! :thumbup:

HP difference between a 325 and 330 is not worth the swap. Look for a SC for your 325. If you want an engine swap..M3 might be nicebut look at slapping a cheap LSX engine in it.

I'm considering building a lightweight, high revving BMW E36 for track use. Hopefully it can be a fun car to drive with a NA setup.
