Second, casting sand, from the head, in the coolant system is normal once the bike has heat cycled a few times. This is a good reason to flush the system after the first few thousand miles. After30 minutes cool-down however everything back to normal. This is the THIRD triple 1050 I have known to have this sort of starter trouble, two of mine and one my brother's. I own a tuneboy, and was hoping that just loading a new map would fix it. (Nope) I also tried changing the plugs to Iridium (did work either) Im riding a 2011 Street Triple, have had this bike for 10months and put 9000kms on the clock, bike has done 30,000km total. When I ride for, say 20 minutes (up to operating temp), kill the engine and then try to Upgradingmeaning the new regulator/rectifier. Just look up on Google the design of the old and new style rectifier. If I remember correctly the new model should have thicker wires or something like that.
